European market returns

20 June 2005

The successful European Market is set to return to Hereford, Thursday, June 30 – Saturday, July 2.

The European Market consists of Marché de France, a team of French traders from Normandy, who will be joined by the popular Farmers’ market on the Saturday.

The two markets offer a delicious blend of home grown delicacies and high-quality European produce. The European Market offers customers a unique shopping experience with something to entice all tastes.

There will be a magnificent cheese lorry. Sausages and salamis will be on offer at the wonderful Charcuterie and delectable varieties of bread will be baked on-site at the bread stall.
An ‘apple-icious’ stall direct from Normandy will be selling three types of cider, real apple juice and Calvados and Pommeau.

Other mouth-watering goodies include fresh pralines and crepes made on site, olives, a patisserie, wine from a french producer, smoked ham from Italy, pate and duck and goose products.
The market’s not just for foodies there will also be handbags, wallets, toys, clothes, toys, French house décor and much, much more.

“I’m delighted the European Market is coming back to Hereford. It brings with it a lively, vibrant atmosphere and offers residents and visitors to Hereford a taste of something different,” said Cllr Mayson, Cabinet Member (Rural Regeneration and Small Holdings).

The market will be staged in High Town, and will run from 9am - 5pm each day.
The European Market will be returning later in the year, visiting Ross on September 30, Hereford, October 1 and Leominster on October 2.
