The South Hereford Area Regeneration Project has installed new cycle racks at two sites in the Belmont area of Hereford.
The racks, which are part of a scheme to encourage more people to take up cycling, are at The Oval and Newton Coppice.
Fran White, Herefordshire Council Parks Officer, said: “This is an excellent project as providing this type of cycle park facility will encourage cycling as a form of sustainable transport.
“Cycling can bring about many health benefits and is also good for the environment so now the weather is improving what better way to get out and about and enjoy the local area.”
The cycle racks have been funded by the Herefordshire Council in partnership with SHARP, Severn Waste Services and the ‘Welcome to our future’ initiative.
SHARP is a residents working group formed two years ago to help bring about improvements to the southern area of Hereford.
They aim to provide the City with a range of facilities for both recreation and environmental education, which it is hoped will eventually make up a new Country Park for Herefordshire.
