District Elections
Elections for Herefordshire Council are held every four years on
the first Thursday in May. A Councillor that is elected to serve on
Herefordshire Council will begin the term of office on the fourth
day after the day of Election. For one day, Herefordshire have
'new' and 'old' Councillors serving together.
A Councillor elected at a By-Election will serve for the
unexpired period of office. Their term of office begins immediately
after the Election.
Herefordshire is divided into 40 Wards being represented by 58
Councillors.
