Partnerships

The Council's ethos is to maximise "impact through partnerships" and ensure it is responsive to local needs. Strategic and service partnerships have a significant role to play in meeting the objective of what the Council aspires to as an organisation - namely an effective, modern council that works with, and is valued by, the local community.

Herefordshire Partnership is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) which brings together key statutory, voluntary and community organisations in a shared commitment to make Herefordshire a place where people want to live, work and visit, now and in the future.

The Partnership is tasked with working towards the delivery of the outcomes set out in the Community Strategy for Herefordshire. This Strategy arose from a significant review carried out in 2005, based on the views of local groups and organisations who were asked to identify key issues for the county.

The Strategy is divided into four themes:

  • Economic Development and Enterprise
  • Healthier Communities and Older People
  • Children and Young People
  • Safer and Stronger Communities

and is guided by the Vision that:

"Herefordshire will be a place where people, organisations and businesses working together within an outstanding natural environment will bring about sustainable prosperity and well being for all."

For further information about the Herefordshire Partnership see the Strategic Partners page or the Herefordshire Partnership website.
