Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Does Herefordshire Council ever make savings to reduce council tax?

Answer:

Herefordshire Council is always striving to reduce costs to keep the amount of council tax at an acceptable level. The Authority measures its efficiency savings and details of these are published on the council tax bill and in the booklet that accompanies the bill.

It is calculated that since April 2008 Herefordshire Council has made over £10 million in efficiency savings, which is the equivalent of a £145 reduction for a Band D property.
