Important notice
Herefordshire Council Research Team are currently developing a new website, drawing together information currently presented on the Herefordshire Council and Herefordshire Partnership sites. The new site should go "live" in January 2010. You may need to update any bookmarks or links you have to either of the current sites.
The Research Team commissions and conducts a number of surveys to supply recognised data needs or fulfil statutory requirements, as well as helping to run surveys for other Council departments and community organisations, and maintaining a citizens' panel known as Herefordshire Voice. Reports of local and regional surveys containing information relating to Herefordshire are available to download in the resources box below.
Some of the surveys that the Research Team is involved with are carried out on behalf of the Herefordshire Partnership. When this is the case the reports are published on the Herefordshire Partnership website. These include:
The Regional Lifestyle Survey 2005
The "Herefordshire Voice" citizens' panel
Each survey report will have contact details within them but for general queries please contact the Research Team on researchteam@herefordshire.gov.uk or 01432 383634.
In the autumn of 2008, we carried out the Herefordshire quality of life survey, which is part of a statutory national survey known as the “Place Survey”. Every council in England is required to carry out this survey every two years, following guidance set out by central government. This survey has replaced the BVPI General Survey, which was also known as the Herefordshire Satisfaction Survey. The resources box below contains the full survey report as well as a summary of the headline figures.
Both the Herefordshire quality of life survey reports published below contain national comparisons where these are available. In addition, national data as published by the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) can be found on the CLG website.
In July and August 2009, Herefordshire Council carried out a public consultation about the proposed refurbishment of Hereford's historic Buttermarket, which aims to enhance its important role as a premier shopping destination in the city. The consultation involved surveying people from across Herefordshire and elsewhere who currently do and do not use the Buttermarket, to seek their views about how they would like to see the Buttermarket refurbished and its future contents.
The resources box below contains the full report of the survey's findings.
