Council Policies and Plans

Herefordshire Council, like all other public authorities, is at risk from fraud. There are many risks, which may be internal or external, therefore the Council has adopted a number of strategies to counter the different threats.

Amongst other things, the Council has adopted proven practices and procedures; it employs specialist staff and it regularly reviews its policies.

The Anti-Fraud Policy is the key document in creating the anti-fraud culture that the Council requires. The Policy and the Statement of Intent for Benefit Fraud are included on this web site (see links at bottom of the page):

  • The Anti-Fraud Policy
  • Housing Benefit Statement of Intent
  • Housing Benefit Anti-Fraud Code
  • Housing Benefit Anti-Fraud Strategy
  • Housing Benefit Prosecution Policy
