Data protection and freedom of information
Herefordshire Council provides a wide range of services to its residents and to administer these services efficiently it may be necessary to process personal information.
This information can be held in manual files or on computer and it is used to provide and improve upon, council services. Only the minimum personal data is held and it is only kept for so long as the purpose requires.
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is an independent authority which oversees and enforces information rights in the public interest.
