Children's centres
Children's centres provide a range of different services to help children who are under five years of age and their families and carers. The aim is to make sure all children have the best possible start in life and that parents are given better opportunities to access services from many organisations easily. The types of services provided depend on local need and are developed by consulting with local communities. However, all centres offer the following core services:
- Family health services
- Early education and childcare
- Support for local childminders
- Family support and outreach services
- Links to employment and training opportunities with Jobcentre Plus
- Information for families
