What's new in the Schools Management area

Education Fact of the Fortnight
The Elementary Education Act 1880 made attendance from 5–10 years a statutory responsibility.  With compulsory attendance came the need for an early Education Welfare Service and the first incarnation was the introduction of Attendance Officers with the ability to enforce attendance at school.

The Herefordshire Levels of Need and Service Response Guidance is now available on the Information for Professionals and Practitioners page supporting multiagency work across the county.  Follow the link to find the document.

This section of the website provides a one-stop-shop for school teachers and leaders to find all the information provided by Herefordshire Council to support you in managing your schools. The section is organised into areas of work which you will find within the left navigation pane, including curriculum, finances and health and safety.

In addition this section enables us to provide a secure means to make specific documentation about your school available to you and for you to inform us of incidents of bullying. Should you have any problems accessing these pages, please contact the Quality and Improvement Team within the People's Directorate who will help you out.
