Working in partnership for the people of Herefordshire

Children and Young People's Plan

The Children and Young People's Plan is produced by the Children and Young People's  Partnership Forum and is the overarching  county plan for children and young people. It is a three year strategic plan and contains the key priority areas that the Partnership will work to.

The latest plan covers the period 2011-2014 and is called the "Yes We Can" Plan.

The plan was consulted on widely and the comments received  and the report on the consultation are attached in the Resources box below.

The plan focuses on 4 priorities, and each of the Partners has pledged commitment to delivering these priorities.

The priorities are

  • Helping families, parents and carers to help themselves, particularly in the early years of their children's lives;
  • Promoting health and well-being;
  • Achieving success in learning and future employment;
  • Protecting children from harm.

The Partnership's Shadow Board, made up of children and young people from across the county, has been involved with the development of the plan and the priorities, and have produced a young person friendly document aimed at 9-18 year olds. The Shadow Board will also help promote the plan across Herefordshire.

There are no hard copies of the plan but there is a 'words only' version that may be easier for those who want to download a copy. There is also a workbook version for 5-8 year olds. These are all in the Resources box below.
