Children, Young People and Families

Welcome to Herefordshire Council’s Children and Young People's Directorate section.  Here you can access information on the wide range of services provided by the Directorate for children and young people including youth services, education welfare, early years and extended services alongside information about how we work and how our priorities are decided.  To find out more, please select an option from the menu on the left or the links box below .

The Children and Young People’s Directorate brings together educational and social care services for children, young people and families.  We are currently developing the way we deliver services into locality based teams which will be made up of workers from a range of agencies.  The teams will work together in the communities they are serving and will develop deeper working relationships with schools, Children’s Centres and voluntary organisations to provide a more comprehensive service.  

The priorities of the Directorate are set by the Children and Young People’s Plan which is produced every three years and is linked to the Every Child Matters agenda set by national government.  Working towards these priorities in our developing locality structure will ensure that the experiences of children and young people growing up in Herefordshire continue to be positive and while improving for all.

The Children's Trust

The Children’s Trust in Herefordshire brings together all the agencies that provide services for children, young people and their families. By working together in partnership we aim to improve the outcomes and opportunities our children and young people achieve.  More information about the work we do can be found on the Children's Trust pages.
