Youth Opportunity Fund and Youth Capital Fund

This Grant, funded by the DCSF, has been developed to allow young people between 13-19 years old to apply for funding to develop projects that increase the number of 'places to go and things to do'. The scheme has been extended until March 2011.

The Youth Opportunity Fund can be used for activities and things to do with funding available from £50-£4,500.

The Youth Capital Fund can be used for 'things' e.g. Equipment and buildings, with funding available from £1000 - £15,000.

A project must benefit young people in Herefordshire aged 13 to 19 and should fit into 1 or more of the 5 outcomes:-

  • Staying Safe (e.g. Anti-bullying project, youth shelter, etc)
  • Enjoying and achieving (e.g. Canoeing trip, digital camera, etc)
  • Making a positive contribution (e.g. Organising a community event, recycling bin, etc)
  • Being healthy (e.g. Healthy eating project, sports equipment etc)
  • Achieving economic wellbeing (e.g. Training Course, IT equipment etc)
