The Herefordshire Rivers LEADER+ Programme

Leader Plus Logo Herefordshire Rivers LEADER+ provided funding to support local community activity that found new ways to enhance, interpret, utilise and record the natural environment and historical resources of the countryside. This included the development of arts, sport, tourism and heritage.  Groups eligible for funding included Schools, Parish Councils, Registered Charities, Voluntary Groups, Co-operatives and Statutory Bodies.

The programme area was based on the communities associated with the Rivers Wye and Lugg and their floodplains. The Wye and Lugg are both Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and among the 25 most important river habitats in Britain. The project area included the major tributaries of the Arrow and Frome and the market towns of Bromyard, Leominster, Kington and Ross-on-Wye.

Details of projects supported by Herefordshire Rivers LEADER+ can be viewed by following the links on the left.

The programme has ended and a new scheme VITAL Herefordshire LEADER programme is up and running, please see VITAL Herefordshire for more information.
