Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary such as a tenth or twenty-fifth, but the ceremony is just as appropriate for couples at any stage of marriage. For example if you were married abroad, you can renew your vows in a ceremony held for family and friends, or you may just wish to celebrate a renewed commitment to each other.
A ceremony can be personalized according to your requirements.
Special people in your lives can take part in your ceremony -
your children, guests who were at your weddings and friends and
relatives.
We offer you the opportunity to include music, readings, to
re-dedicate rings or exchange new ones and to exchange
gifts.
We have suggestions for personal vows of commitment which you
may wish to make to each other or you can write your own, in
consultation with an experienced Celebrant.
A commemorative certificate is signed during the ceremony by
the couple and two witnesses.
It must be stressed that neither the Renewal of Vows Ceremony nor the Commemorative Certificate has any legal status. Whilst renewal of marriage vows ceremonies may be carried out in the Register Office, it is designated as a private venue during these ceremonies.
Ceremonies can be held at a Register Office or at one of the venues approved by Herefordshire Council. If you choose to hold the ceremony at one of these venues you will need to contact them first to ascertain their charges and availability.
A ceremony will usually take about 20 minutes but this will vary depending upon the number of readings and options included.
