Leominster Drug Forum

Leominster Drug Forum works towards tackling local substance misuse and alcohol issues, and is made up of representatives from West Mercia Police, Sure Start, Youth Service, Herefordshire Primary Care Trust's Health Promotion team, and an outreach worker from DASH (Drugs Advisory Service Herefordshire).

Leominster Drug Forum has identified a growing issue with young people and alcohol in the area.

In response, the forum is putting together an alcohol awareness campaign targeted at young people and also at adults who buy alcohol for them.

This will consist of posters and beer mats featuring powerful images and national help lines and will be up and running in 2008.

Local Policing

West Mercia's Herefordshire Division employs 289 police officers and 99 police staff, as well as Community Support Officers and Special Constables.

There are 20 Local Policing Teams in Herefordshire. Each Local Policing Team consists of at least one Local Police Officer and a Community Support Officer.

Local Policing Teams are supported by response officers and other specialists who together ensure your neighbourhood is policed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
