Dealing With Offenders
The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003 gave the local council, the police, statutory and other voluntary organisations such as landlords, the power to share information on any anti social behaviour and criminal activity of offenders.If a complaint is received concerning any anti social behaviour, action taken will depend on the seriousness or the number of incidents that individual is involved in; each case will be dealt with individually.
Possible actions may include:
- Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC)
- Involvement of other agencies
- Mediation
- Case conference
- Diversionary schemes
- Preventative work
- Injunctions
- Parenting Order
- Eviction
- Anti social behaviour order (ASBO)
A person will only receive an ASBO if any previous intervention has failed to stop the anti social behaviour.
