'Crucial Crew' takes place in Herefordshire each year and is attended by students throughout the county over a four week period.
The event aims to build young people's self esteem and allow them to make safer and more informed choices.
The sessions cover healthy lifestyles and personal safety and are organised by Herefordshire Community Safety and Drugs Partnership, along with a number of local partners, including West Mercia Constabulary, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and Healthy Schools.
The project encourages good citizenship and behaviour in young people, leading to a sensible and informed approach to decision making in the future.
Herefordshire Community Safety and Drugs Partnership supports 'The Noise' - an annual three day event in the South Wye area of Hereford. It is designed to encourage young people to care for their community by working alongside Herefordshire Council, the Fire Service and local Police Officers to positively affect anti-social behaviour, reduce crime and bring a fresh sense of community to the neighbourhood.
In previous years, over 200 youngsters have been involved in projects such as painting, gardening and weeding across Hinton, Redhill, Newton Farm and Hunderton.
Through these activities, the Partnership aims to develop a sense of pride and ownership in the local community and discourage young people from damaging the area they live in.
Year ten pupils across Herefordshire learn the dangers of driving as part of the annual 'Dying to Drive' initiative. The project visits students from 11 of the county's high schools as well as the three Pupil Referral Units.
Students are shown realistic video footage of a road traffic collision and then take part in interactive workshops to discuss why the crash happened and how it could have been prevented.
The initiative is a joint project between Herefordshire Council's road safety unit, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, West Mercia Constabulary, Healthy Schools and the Youth Offending Service.
It is aimed specifically at the age group when young people begin to think about driving for the first time and may be getting into vehicles driven by older friends and siblings.
