Priorities

Herefordshire Community Safety Partnership undertake regular strategic reviews to identify local priorities.

A priority area is identified through extensive research, including community consultation and the collection, gathering and analysis of data from many different agencies and sources.

Strategic priorities are then translated into action plans, which are implemented by the Partnership and its member groups.

During the 2008 - 2011 Strategic Plan, we successfully met the following objectives:

Target Outcome
Increase the number of people (Problematic Drug User's) in effective drug treatment by 6% by 2011 Currently on course to meet / exceed the target set by the National Treatment Agency (NTA)
Reduce the number of anti-social behaviour (ASB) incidents reported to the Police by 10% by 2011 Currently on course to achieve a 15% reduction in ASB since 2007 / 2008
Reduce incidents of criminal damage by 10% by 2011 Currently on course to achieve a 30% reduction in criminal damage incidents since 2007 / 2008
Reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in road traffic accidents on the county's roads Those killed or seriously injured on Herefordshire’s roads have more than halved since 2008
Reduce all recorded crime by 8% by 2011 Currently on course to achieve a 13% reduction in all recorded crime since 2007 / 2008

Our new 2011 - 2014 Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas:

  • Alcohol and night time economy
  • Empowered localities
  • Reducing crime through Integrated Offender Management (IOM)
  • Road Safety

The full strategy is currently being drafted and will be available shortly.  For more information on how to have a say in what these priorities should be, see the get involved page.
