SFI and Other DTI Support Schemes

The Selective Finance Initiative is a discretionary scheme and normally takes the form of a grant or occasionally a loan. Applicants must demonstrate that a grant is necessary to enable the project to go ahead as planned and should involve expenditure on fixed assets, such as property, plant and machinery. It is intended that the majority of support should be focused on high-quality, innovative, knowledge-based projects that provide skilled jobs. In each case the amount and terms of assistance will be negotiated as the minimum necessary for the proposed project to go ahead. There is a minimum threshold for applications of £10,000 grant. A summary of the SFI scheme and contact details can be downloaded by clicking the SFI Summary file below.

In addition to the SFI, the Department of Trade and Industry has a range of advice and funding schemes to support businesses, some of which are location dependent. Business Link provides access to these schemes and can be contacted by telephone on 0800 10 40 10, or by accessing their website using the link below.

A summary of the schemes available can be accessed via the DTI Schemes Summary file below. More details on DTI schemes can be found on the Regional Investment website using the link below.
